The Mental Health Provider Paradox: More Therapists, Sicker Society

This graph reveals mental healthcare's fundamental failure: as licensed psychologists multiplied from 2 to 59 per 100,000 population, mental illness rates nearly quadrupled from 10% to 37%. We've built an entire industry around mental wellness that has presided over mental health collapse. More providers correlate with more pathology, not less.

The proliferation of mental health professionals was supposed to catch problems early, provide support, and prevent crisis. Instead, we see perfect correlation: more therapists, more mental illness. This isn't because we're "better at diagnosis" – people are genuinely suffering more. The industry that claims to treat mental illness appears to be participating in its creation.
